Breast Cancer Prevention Program

The UCSF Breast Cancer Prevention Program is a prevention and screening clinic created by the Carol Franc Buck Breast Care Center and the Women's Health Center at UCSF.

This innovative clinic provides access to specialists in preventing breast cancer, including doctors, nurse practitioners, cancer risk and genetic counselors, researchers and a dietitian.

The program is designed to meet the needs of women at increased risk of developing breast cancer due to family medical history, previous diagnosis or difficult breast exams caused by fibrocystic breasts. Based on your personal and family history, our team provides you with a medical profile and appropriate follow-up recommendations.

Topics addressed during a visit include family history of breast cancer, nutrition, screening options and screening frequency.
